Turner Classic Movies
Working for the incredible designers at 1 Trick Pony, I developed several Flash modules for Turner Classic Movies.
Sitting front and center on their index page, I developed a Flash slideshow to promote upcoming programs and special events. Dynamic navigation and external SWF slides are created by loading an XML document. To populate the slideshow, I also developed two templates, one with video, one without, that required a minimum of standardization which allowed a maximum of flexibility. In addition, I programmed interchangeable transitions.

For a cable television channel, the schedule is paramount. That is why I am proud to have developed the train station-style sign that sits atop Turner Classic Movie’s schedule page. It’s a simple, yet elegant, module that reads information from an XML document then outputs it into the header, flipping each letter on the sign.

In an ambitious effort to generate the largest collection of movie memorabilia, Turner Classic Movies started TCMdb. It houses millions of pieces of information on over 130,000 titles. My part was developing the Image Viewer, a Flash application which allows users to examine posters, documents and more by zooming and dragging. It reads an XML document, loading whatever it is told (like a good app should) and ensuring I will never need to work on it again.
